How I became a copywriter in Hull…
After completing a History degree at the University of Leeds, and a short, ill-advised foray into sales, I joined East Yorkshire’s leading integrated marketing company, bluestorm, as a PR graduate trainee and copywriter in January 2008.
Over the next four years, I learned my craft, honing my writing and marketing skills and progressing to the role of PR consultant, delivering effective copywriting, PR and communication campaigns for clients in Hull, East Yorkshire and across the UK. The PR department grew quickly and we were really successful, winning back-to-back CIPR awards in 2009 and 2010 for our innovative campaigns, before being nominated twice in 2011.
By the end of 2011, I was ready for a change. Whilst I enjoyed my job and loved the department, I knew I didn’t want to work 9-5.30 anymore, and felt that I couldn’t progress any further within the company. I also wanted the flexibility to work the hours I wanted, and to do the things I enjoy.
That’s why, in 2012, I took the plunge, and decided to go freelance full time as a copywriter in Hull. I love having the ability to work from home and the flexibility to only work on projects that I know I can complete to the highest standard.
I want to build long-term relationships with my clients, and because the buck stops with me, you can be certain that I put my all into every piece of work I complete.
In short, if you choose to use my copywriting services, you get an experienced, flexible, agency-grade copywriter at freelance rates.
